Summer Update

We have been having a great...and very hot...summer here in San Antonio. It isn't "Doha hot," where the heat can sometimes take your breath away when you walk outside, but we have been over 100 almost every day in July and August so far.

I have added a few posts about some of the things we have been doing the past few months. I can't believe how fast the summer has gone, but I am ready for fall.

Prego Pics

I am now about 28 weeks with 91 days to go. Not that I am counting! Actually, I feel great and am doing well. I am just starting to feel big and am wondering where this baby is going to go in the next 3 months.

Coulam Fam Visit

My friend, Melissa (Kirkham) Coulam, and her family have moved to Katy, just outside Houston. It is about two and a half hours from where we live. I went to visit there for a couple of days and then Mel and her family came to San Antonio to vacation with us for a few days. It was fun to have our first house guests and it forced me to finally clean out the spare bedroom. I didn't take many pictures during their visit, but Mel's daughter, Emily, played photographer for me. It was fun to see things from her perspective. We had a good time being tourists with them and it was fun to see Charly-dog playing with the kids.

Independence Day

I love the 4th of July and it was hard to be away from home. Independence Day is my favorite holiday, second only to Christmas. I missed seeing the hot air balloons and doing breakfast and games with my family, but we had a great day. Jon and I are on the Activities Committee in our ward. We had a ward pancake breakfast with games and activities. This really is a great ward and we had a really good time.

Our friends, the Ashmores, invited us over that night for a BBQ and we all went to Schertz (neighboring town) for a pretty good free fireworks show. It was a lot of fun.

"Baby Mama" Goes Camping

I was asked to be the Level Leader for the Level 4 girls at our Stake Girls' Camp this year. I loved it. It was so much fun. It is a tradition in this stake to give leaders and youth camp leaders a camp name. The girls named me "Baby Mama." It was like Norm on Cheers every time I walked into a room. It was a lot of fun to work with YW again. I had a really amazing group of girls. They kept me laughing the entire week.

We had cabins and cots, so it wasn't difficult to do pregnant. I actually felt better there than I had in months. I love Girls Camp and was really excited to be part of it. Baby also loved it. She moved around and kicked more that week than she ever had before.
